OUTREACH
Museum Outreach
I have participated in outreach events at the Field Museum of Natural History and Burke Museum on University of Washington’s campus to bring histology-based content to adults and kids. I have also helped with fossil unpacking parties where we carefully unwrap and catalogue fossils from recent fieldwork during member’s nights and behind the scenes events.

Outreaching Teaching
In the summer of 2022, I was an instructor for the Discovery in Geosciences (DIG) Field School. This program immerses K-12 teachers in a 4-day fieldwork experience where we teach paleontology and geology research methods in the Hell Creek area of northeastern Montana. In addition to hands-on fieldwork experience, we also work with teachers to develop lesson plans that use fossils as a gateway to scientific thinking and encourages students to interact with fossils in the ways that researchers do.

Outreaching Teaching
Since I was an undergraduate student, I have taught at elementary schools during "Meet the Scientist" events. These includes elementary schools in the Twin Cities, Seattle, and over Zoom.
